I was able to hack a discount on car rental, but not nearly as low as I had hoped. Given the price of the car and gas, I have regretfully decided not to add any extra stops on this road trip – just down to NOLA and back.

This was a hard decision because I really would love to meet more of you guys! Please forgive me for bowing out this time & let me know if you will be in Wisconsin in the next month!

You got me at Deep Conversations. I have little patience for small talk and have a habit of making conversation challenging to the mind – I am not one to get bored (at least not for long) and others around me either feel they are in over their heads or swim with enthusiasm. Then you later mention swimming and I laughed. I am not a splasher, but I am mischievous when it comes to water, as I spend more time underwater than above compared to most people. Even when I warn people of this, they quickly get a spook. Thinking me a fish tickling their feet, get surprised by a sudden burst of bubbles beneath them, or get spooked when I am suddenly right in front of them when I was nowhere to be seen :D Told them I did of all this too and they still get spooked. Same thing happens when I talk with people about what you are supposed to do when a bear comes by and they all say they know what to do and tell me the whole step by step process. Then I sneak into the nearby woods and hangout for a while until people don’t suspect and make my bear imitation to see what they do. I have yet to see anyone respond properly, as they all bolt as fast as they could in the other direction. It is quite entertaining. I hope you have a good time and that nearby folks get some time with you.
