I believe we have the ability to change our lives. Ceremony is one of the oldest tools to do that, a tool with powerful effects on the human mind. It is the art of will.
That’s why I’m continuing to prepare for launching the Salon of Magic, a donation-based, open-door setting for magic ceremonies. The Salon will offer the ceremonies people need without regard for income, economic level, race or any other factor. Just show up, and we’ll help you.
Launching the salon takes work and resources. I’ve been shooting footage for our Indiegogo fundraising video. Here are some photos from the shoot:

New Orleans is a city built on magic.

Here’s the same veve (summoning diagram) on my personal shrine in the Rogue Chateau, with offerings.

I’m working with local magicians to make sure I can help those who can’t afford their services.

This is the Salon’s courtyard, where ceremonies will be done on the spot for everyone who walks through the door.

Inside the Magic Salon.
A friend is helping me shoot the last piece this week. With luck, we’ll have our campaign up and running on Idiegogo very soon. The way Indiegogo works is that people (like you!) pledge donations to support a project, and if we meet our goal you all get special perks and inside benefits for helping us reach it.
I hope we’ll be able to start that campaign within a week or two, and I hope you’ll help us when it goes live.
What do you think? What would you like to see from the Magic Salon? Please leave a comment and let me know. Your advice will help make the strongest campaign possible.

I love this idea Drew. I’m sure it will succeed. And can’t wait to come to NOLA to experience it firsthand!

I moved to New Orleans recently and having just begun immersing myself in the local polytheist, magical, and cunning community, I would love to hear more about the salon! And as one who whispers his name at cemeteries and crossroads and grants him offerings at my altar, I love that Legba’s veve greets the salon’s patrons.
I would love a venue for discussion and meet-and-greet within the community. I would love to volunteer my help in any way I can. I’ve loved my time so far in the Crescent City but am quite lonely without the spiritual community I had in the PNW. Feel free to e-mail me at taylor.baysinger@gmail.com — I would love to get in contact about the venture!

Sionnach I didn’t know you were moving to Nawlins!! Welcome to the city. I’d love to get together; that email is on its way.

I think it’s a great idea and I’ve wanted to move to a free/donation/barter system for my own business as well for a LONG TIME. I just can’t figure the logistics of it (if you have ideas, please pass them along to me!). I despise and reject the market economy and would much prefer to live in a world where we support rather than exploit each other.

Ugh. Wrong login. You know it’s me, right?

Melissa! Thank you. I’m happy to do one of our late night chats and brainstorm how to move to a donation-based model. I think that would be a really cool option to make your work even more accessible.
Though I will say that simply by virtue of having such a clear, public and relatable online presence you have already done wonders in terms of making tarot consultations more accessible.

All I’d like to see is the positive effects – how you could do that I have no idea.

That’s a really interesting idea. I think I could probably share the comments, reports or testimonials of those who visit the Salon (without their names, of course). That’s a very good idea, actually.
